OVERVIEW:
A Flag State Special Safety Inspection was performed onboard a 9,957 GT container ship in Valencia on behalf of the Liberian Maritime Authority.
The attendance focused on assessing the vessel’s maintenance condition and compliance with applicable safety, pollution prevention and operational requirements under SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ILO requirements and the relevant Flag Administration regulations.
As the vessel was subject to special follow-up within the Paris MoU framework, particular attention was given to operational readiness, identification of deficiencies and support to the Master and crew prior to potential Port State Control attendance.
