OVERVIEW:

A Port State Control (PSC) inspection, crew training and awareness were carried out during the vessel’s call at Huelva anchorage. The first part of pre-PSC attendance consisted of a review of class, statutory and safety certificates and documentation. The second part of attendance was a tour on the main deck, accommodation and deck. The third part was a tour in the engine room. Most of the equipment and machinery were tested.

Abandon and fire drills were carried out. To end with the attendance, there was a closing meeting with all crew where the main points and issues of the attendance were summarized and where pre-PSC training was carried out.

Managers, a part from the PSC assessment, were in need of having a third party visual inspection and reporting, to have an independent point of view of the physical condition of the vessel.
