OVERVIEW:
A Pre-charter condition survey was performed onboard a 2,805 GT general cargo vessel in Barcelona on behalf of prospective charterers to assess the vessel’s general condition before commencement of the charter.
The inspection included a review of relevant class, statutory and safety-related documentation together with an assessment of the vessel’s visible condition, cargo spaces, cargo fitness and operational aspects relevant to the intended charter.
Ultrasonic hatch cover testing (UST) was also performed before loading to assess hatch cover weathertight integrity and identify potential leakage areas that could affect cargo protection and lead to future cargo claims.
