Overview
A combined ISM, ISPS and MLC internal audit and technical condition inspection was carried out onboard a container ship in Valencia on behalf of ship management interests.
The attendance combined management system and compliance verification with an assessment of the vessel’s general technical condition. The technical inspection covered statutory and class documentation, hull condition, bridge and navigation equipment, accommodation, cargo areas and hatch covers, deck and mooring arrangements, machinery spaces, maintenance and safety equipment.
A number of technical and maintenance observations were identified during the inspection, including significant hull corrosion, deterioration affecting cargo areas and hatch covers, maintenance deficiencies in mooring equipment and several machinery-related observations.
The combined attendance provided an assessment of both onboard management system implementation and the vessel’s physical and operational condition at the time of inspection.
