Container Ship Pre-Purchase Survey in Valencia

Case details:

Service: Ship Pre-Purchase Survey
Vessel: Container Ship
Location: Valencia, Spain
Principal: Prospective Buyers
Survey: Pre-Purchase Condition Assessment

Overview

A pre-purchase survey was carried out onboard a container ship in Valencia as part of the prospective buyer’s technical assessment prior to a potential acquisition.
The attendance focused on assessing the vessel’s visible condition and included inspection of the external hull, deck and cargo areas, cargo holds and hatch covers, together with machinery spaces and main and auxiliary machinery.
The vessel was generally found in satisfactory condition, although a number of maintenance observations were documented during the inspection. These included local hull indentations, corrosion and coating deterioration in deck and cargo areas, corrosion staining within a cargo hold and maintenance issues affecting machinery and associated equipment.
The survey provided the prospective buyer with an independent assessment of the vessel’s condition at the time of attendance, supported by photographic documentation of the areas inspected and observations identified.
