Overview

A comprehensive on-hire condition survey was performed onboard a container ship in Alicante on behalf of the charterers prior to commencement of the charter period.
The inspection included assessment of the vessel‘s visible hull condition, main deck and external structures, cargo holds, hatch covers, container lashing arrangements, reefer connections and machinery spaces. Operational aspects affecting cargo operations and auxiliary systems were also reviewed.
Several maintenance and operational observations were documented during the attendance, including local hull damage and coating deterioration, deficiencies affecting deck fittings and exposed steam lines, and operational issues involving auxiliary systems. Cargo spaces were generally found in satisfactory condition, with no major structural issues observed.
A bunker survey was also carried out during the attendance to establish the quantities of fuel remaining onboard at the time of delivery.
